BONA FIDE KEN LOACH: REALISM IN FICTION
Art, across all disciplines, is subject to theory concerning the realist text. A painting, a novel, a film, or a poem can all be regarded accordingly and realist theory becomes as diverse as its subjects. Discussions of realism in film as in other art forms are tortuous and circular, such as the question, ‘does the real world actually exist?'
